Chat Control being discussed again — How to easily take action
Chat Control is being discussed again under the Danish presidency. A new website allows you to easily and quickly take action.

Under the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (what a long way to say that), Chat Control is being discussed again. This presidency lasts from July to December 2025 and I don’t want to go into too much detail about the problems of Chat Control in this article, that can be left for a later more detailed analysis. Many people have already written great resources to get informed about all potential problems arising from this proposal.
Instead I want to tell you about a great website that summarizes the most important facts, lists the positions of all member states regarding this issue and makes it easier than ever to take action yourself. If you go to fightchatcontrol.eu, you will find a chilling header which shows that, as of the writing of this article, most countries support this proposal. Luckily important countries for blocking this from advancing further, such as Poland, Germany, or the Netherlands already oppose it. I very much recommend that you take a closer look at the website itself and see what it has to offer, as everything is summarized very nicely.
What is so special about this particular webpage is the fact that there is an interactive form which lets you quickly draft an email to your representatives, tailored to the issues concerning you the most. Below you can see the first step where you are free to select all the issues you personally see with Chat Control. I specifically didn’t select any in the screenshot, as this is also a matter of opinion. Alternatively you can also not select any and write a message yourself.

After selecting the most pressing issues, the tool allows you to customize the message further. Here you can also enter a custom message.

In the last step you can select your country of residence. Doing so will load all representatives (MEPs) and automatically select those that support the motion or have an unknown opinion about Chat Control.

Afterwards it’s as simple as clicking _Send Emails_ which will fill your default mail application with the message and all addresses already filled out. Alternatively you can simply copy either the message or the email addresses manually.

Chat Control is very problematic in its nature. I’m glad a website like this exists, which makes it easy to take action quickly. If you already oppose Chat Control and reside in a country that currently supports this proposition, I urge you to contact your MEPs. Otherwise, if you maybe missed this proposal completely for any reason, you can inform yourself and form an opinion. Let’s hope yet another attempt to pass Chat Control fails again, it should stay that way in my opinion.
